As a Wilsonville family photographer, one of the biggest highlights is seeing my client’s children grow over the year. It really is an incredible honor that my families entrust me to document their children as they grow up, because as a mom I can see even with my own kids how quickly it goes. I’ll think, oh, my kids look about the same as they were last year, nothing’s changed too much: and then we measure them and WHAT? Grew almost two inches?? When I look back at pictures from a few years ago or even just last year (thanks, Facebook memories), it’s obvious: they’re losing their baby-ness so, so fast. Who are these big kids??
So when I meet with families for their family photos, it’s a race to stop time. To document the gap in their smile where there will be adult teeth soon enough. To photograph the way they give you the biggest hugs because they still think you’re the coolest. The way their little hand grabs yours? That, too. I met up with this family near Wilsonville for the third time since I’ve known them. Our quick family photo session was a busy one, with their daughter being the best little photography assistant. I think it’s so fun when the kids are invested in picture making too.
These photos were a part of my recent Lavender Mini Session event, held in mid-July. I only offer mini sessions twice a year. Since dates are released to my email list first, it’s just a great chance to see my returning clients for these quick seasonal photos. Ten minutes is the perfect amount of time for some quick photos to document these babies before they get any bigger!
