Today is a BIG DAY at Samantha Shannon Photography!  Something I’ve been dreaming about for YEARS has finally happened!  The big website redesign is finished and LIVE!!  This has been a labor of love and totally consuming my free time for the last three months (because obviously I chose to do it in the midst of wedding and family portrait season, because I like to do #allthethings), and I’m so thrilled to finally share it with you all!

I loved my last website.  It was full of fun, bright colors and was simple to create.  I made it just as my business started to grow here in Oregon, and it served its purpose well as my online portfolio.  But I’d been feeling like it was missing something.  I’d have clients who would show up to meet me at sessions not totally sure what I looked like, so they weren’t sure who to look for!  When I went onto my website, I saw a lot of work I was proud of, but not a real cohesive sense of who I was and why I loved what I did.  Basically, my old website was missing ME.

This started a looooong journey at the beginning of this year to do some BIG, DEEP soul searching.  When I work with clients at weddings or at family sessions, I ask them to let me into THEIR lives, share their happiest life moments with me–it makes sense that I should share a little more about who I am!  I felt driven to find out exactly what it was that made my heart sing in my business, and then translate that in my online presence.

I did a lot of journaling.  I did a lot of Pinteresting.  (That’s a word, right?  You know, when you get sucked down the rabbit hole of Pinterest trying to make THE board that summarizes everything you are and love?  No big deal.)  I had the support of some amazing women and talks on branding at The MOB Yamhill County-a collection of mama-owned businesses.  Most importantly, I did a lot of dreaming.

After a LOT of computer work this summer, I’m finally ready to release the new and improved Samantha Shannon Photography!  You can expect bigger, larger photos to be showcased, and a website that just sounds a little more like ME!  You’ll see my newest work showcased, with plenty of that glowy light that my clients love!  You’ll see some super kind reviews from my favorite clients, and a little Instagram feed at the bottom of the page since I’ve finally joined this century and use that almost daily now!  But my favorite part about putting this new website together has been going through thousands of images from the last few years, revisiting the work I made with each client.  It’s reminded me how blessed I am to have clients who love bright, light-filled images as much as I do, and who almost always are already my people before we even get started.  I’m so lucky to have you!
