When you have a large family and the kids are a little older and have their own lives and their own schedules…it can be hard to get everyone together in the same place at the same time! I know this can be a challenge even when my parents want to get the family together–it’s just my brother and I, but we each have our own families, work schedules, and other commitments, so it can be a challenge. So when Shannalee emailed me to let me know that her family had a date when ALL of their kids would be in town and available for family photos in Newberg–it was time to book their session!! We met in one of my favorite fields where the Queen Anne’s lace is growing strong in mid summer.
I adore how these photos are turning out, and even though we just shot these last night, I had to pop on to the blog to share a few favorites! I’ve been culling through these this morning and I just couldn’t resist editing a few for a preview.
Aren’t their color choices just the best?? I love that blush pink with the soft sage green and pops of cream–it’s such a warm, delicate summer palette that just perfectly matches the season. Softer colors like this photograph SO well in lighter landscapes like this–see how the warm neutrals like the cream and tan complement the color of the field, and then the pops of pink add some contrast? And since it’s a lighter pink, it looks perfectly at home next to the light tan of the field. Ahhh! So perfect.
These two girls were just the sweetest! And be right back, running out to buy headbands just like this for my daughter. Seriously adorable!
Thank you for inviting me to photograph your family, Shannalee! Keep an eye on your inbox later this week for your full gallery!
