September’s almost here, and whether you’re deep in the trenches of back to school clothes shopping or just starting to think about family pictures coming up this fall, I’ve got you covered. Today I’m sharing my favorite finds for picture-worthy kids clothes in Portland, from the best local boutiques for baby clothing. My favorite kids fall clothing for pictures is all about light neutrals and plenty of cozy textures. I’ve rounded up my favorite new arrivals in my favorite locally-owned Portland boutiques, just for you! Get ready: these 24 kids clothes will scream “fall” in your family pictures.
Kids Fall Clothing for Pictures at Posh Baby
On my first stop at Posh Baby, I checked out my new favorite baby clothing brand, 1+ In The Family. Their clothes are simple, with an organic feel and a color palette for fall that will fit right in at your field photo session. What I love about 1+ In The Family is that their clothes are unfussy, just dressed up enough for family pictures, but ready to play in afterwards. They’re great quality pieces that will last long beyond the photo session day.

Here are a few of my favorites:
1+ In The Family Marti Legging at Posh Baby
While fall can be warm enough to choose dresses or rompers, bare baby legs can still get chilly, especially at a morning session. Since a cold baby usually means a fussy baby, I encourage my clients to dress their children in layers at fall sessions. Leggings are perfect–these are simple and neutral, but add some texture with the ribbed fit.
1+ In The Family Organic Miranda Dress at Posh Baby
The warm-but-not-too-dark color of this dress is PERFECT for fall family photos where you want a little more color or depth. It isn’t too bright or too dark so your photos will still look light and airy. Plus, the adorable ruffle and subtle stripe adds some great interest.
Le’ D Bug Kids Fall Clothing for Pictures
My next stop was Le’ D Bug in Bridgeport Village. This one’s the closest to me on the westside, so I love how easy it is to pop in and pick up pretty outfits for my daughter. They carry a huge selection of a lot of my favorite brands, but the new release of the Quincy Mae’s fall line is INCREDIBLE for light and airy fall pictures. There are a lot of soft ruffles, knits, and delicate prints in warm tones.

Two of my top favorites:
Ruffle Collar Knit Sweater by Quincy Mae at Le’ D Bug
This classic little sweater was one of my FAVORITES. I love its ruffle collar and the refined texture of the knit. The cream color is one I always recommend to clients for timeless photos, and I’m thrilled to see so much of it in Quincy Mae’s fall line.
Belle Dress by Quincy Mae at Le’ D Bug
Speaking of adorable fall neutrals for kids clothes, this dress is everything I love about fall! The natural gauze has the perfect organic-inspired texture, and the cream color photographs just beautifully. The subtle brown print ties in effortlessly to the rest of the family’s fall outfits. The ruffled tiers are great for twirls, and the long bell sleeves keep baby warm during photos.
the Bull & the Bee
Lastly, I had to check out the Bull & the Bee for their great collection of The Blueberry Hill kids clothing. And I adore Rylee + Cru as well, so of course I might have snuck a few of those into my roundup, too! The Bull & the Bee is always great for fun play clothes for my kids, but I loved the soft neutrals in The Blueberry Hill’s fall collection.
