Friends. Last night…did you catch that glowy sunset? I was lucky enough to be out in the fields around Newberg for a family photo session and we got some GLOW! Jenni reached out to me for family photos because their oldest daughter was headed out of state for college soon. They wanted to be sure to get photos with the whole family before she moved! It’s such an important time to get photos done! The family drove out to Champoeg State Park from Tigard to take advantage of that magical light we get in the oak grove and it worked out just perfectly! They’d been super flexible and rescheduled from their original date of Saturday because of that downpour. Pretty classic spring weather–downpours one minute, beautiful sunny glow the next!
We started out in the lower part of the park, and I got to use one of my new vintage quilts for some of the family photos! I’ve been on a little tear around the antique shops here in wine country searching for vintage quilts to use in photo sessions. I just love finding these pieces and thinking about the amount of love that went in to making each quilt. And then we get to repurpose them in photos all about another family’s love for each other! It’s just the best!
So, I’m especially in love with our last little set of photos where we let the kids loose to play in the apple orchard. They’d been so good the whole session, and since the sun was setting, it was time to let some wiggles out! They picked flowers and raced through the field and it was the perfect preview of a perfect summer! Jenni and fam, thank you for inviting me to capture your family at this moment in time!
